Builders and plumbers

This section provides information about building applications, water and wastewater service requests, the associated charges and payment options.  It also includes details on how to lodge building applications and other service requests online through BuilderNet.

Building applications

Before you build any type of structure on your property, building plans need to be submitted to your local government and the Water Corporation for approval. We need to check your plans to see if the building site is near any of our services. If you are using a building company, it is important that you check whether they are submitting plans on your behalf.

Applications for all types of Water Corporation building approvals or quotes can be lodged through BuilderNet. This includes:

  • single residential building applications
  • minor buildings - non-habitable structures such as swimming pools, patios, gazebos, garages, carports and retaining walls;
  • alterations and/or additions to existing buildings; and
  • multi-residential and/or commercial developments, including associated water service connections and sewer junctions.

Simply attach electronic copies of your architectural floor plans and site plans (in PDF or JPEG format). Approvals and invoices are sent to your email address.

Standard Water Corporation fees and charges apply for building and service applications.

Locating our infrastructure and your plumbing

Plumbing connections and sewer mains

Flimsies show the location of plumbing connections to a dwelling within the property boundaries. E-plans show the location of the Water Corporation’s sewer main and specifications. Both can be requested online through BuilderNet.

Working near our pipelines

Plans of water and other essential community services (including electricity, gas and communications infrastructure) can be obtained through the Dial Before You Dig service. Call 1100 or visit www.dialbeforeyoudig.com.au

If you are working near the Water Corporation's pipelines you need to know how to work around them without causing damage or interference. Information on working near our pipelines is available here.
