Garden City Shopping Centre

Garden City Shopping Centre in Booragoon has reduced water use by over 10 per cent thanks to a number of water saving initiatives, but by far the largest savings have been achieved most recently because of a swift response to locating and repairing a large leak.

Glen Huon Primary School

Glen Huon staff members, students and the school community responded to the need to reduce the schools water consumption by implementing a number of water saving initiatives. With increased awareness about the need to save water, the school has developed a sense of place and belonging within the community as a result of their water saving success.

Holiday Inn Burswood

Holiday Inn Perth Burswood has been proactive in decreasing its water use and as a result has successfully reduced consumption by over 25 per cent since 2006. Key initiatives that have contributed to these savings include the installation of WELS rated showerheads and tap aerators in all rooms to reduce the water flow.

Mount Hospital Perth

A combination of intiatives has produced impressive water and energy savings at the 220-bed Mount Hospital in central Perth. All areas of the hospital have been involved in the effort, which has seen a 40 percent reduction in overall water use in three years. In the same period, the hospital's benchmark water consumption has been cut by more than half.

Hanson Concrete Port Hedland

The new Hanson concrete batch plant in Port Hedland has raised the bar for water saving in regional industry through a series of intiatives to collect rainwater and recycle water used in its operations. The plant, part of a national company network, began operating in late 2010 and slashed the manufacturer's use of scheme water at its former plant by more than 50 per cent within eight months.

Kwinana Water Recycling Plant - providing recycled water for industry

The Kwinana Water Recycling Plant has been supplying industrial grade water to large industry in Kwinana, as a substitute for the States precious drinking water supplies. Ti-west is one example of a business significantly reducing drinking water use; Kwinana industry has more than halved its use of scheme water.

Check out what Adventure World is doing to conserve our drinking water. It's a great example of a business that uses water for most of its activities but is very keen to show patrons how committed they are to water efficiency.
