When there are changes to a business process (such as a coffee shop becoming a restaurant or addition/removal of fixtures and fittings) it can result in changes to permit conditions. In these circumstances the Water Corporation needs to carry out a new assessment. It is the responsibility of the permit holder to complete and submit a new Industrial Waste Application.
The business owner is legally required to notify the Water Corporation, in writing, within 14 days of selling or closing a business. Please advise the date you sold or closed your business and the details of the new proprietor, if known.
You should also advise the new business owner that an existing Industrial Waste Permit cannot be transferred and a new permit will be required.
As the new owner it is your responsibility to complete and submit a new industrial waste application and understand the requirements relating to the business's waste discharge.
