Urban Development Advisory Committee (UDAC)
The Urban Development Advisory Committee was established in 1994 as an advisory committee to the Board of the then Water Authority of Western Australia with the primary role to review land development issues of a technical and commercial nature to provide:
advice on improving processes associated with the Corporation's involvement in the land development activity;
advice on performance indicators the Corporation should adopt, and how the development industry could be better served by the Corporation;
representative input to reviews of policies, processes, standards, practices and Corporation performance, particularly as these impact on land development activities State-wide undertaken and/or administered by private and public entities.
With the creation of the Water Corporation, the new Board reviewed the need for the Committee and resolved that it fulfilled an important role that should be continued.
External members are voted onto the Committee by the Water Corporation Board, with the terms of appointment staggered to provide continuity. The Committee is made up of representatives from associations and bodies that represent the development industry.
